About

Hi and welcome to my little corner! :)

My name is Ines and I'm based in the heart of the UK, in the West Midlands. They say "Home is where the heart is"...well I have two homes and a big heart that stretches all the way from Portugal (where my roots and my family are) to the UK (where I live with my boyfriend, my 2 year old son and my doggie Shep, the Border Collie :)

So, when was The Zenful Chandlery born?
We will have to rewind a couple of years to contextualise it :) When my son was born I realised many of the goals I had had in life until then became meaningless and less important.

I wanted to be a mum for him and watch him grow, I didn't want to miss a thing! I decided to quit my full time job and look for something that would be less demanding in terms of time. I did find something temporary but it wasn't fulfilling at all and I was just feeling really bored!

And then, on a beautiful crispy and sunny winter morning, I decided I was going to learn a craft. I started reading a lot about candles, I spent hours researching online, I bought a few books and, soon after, my first candle making kit and decided to have a go at it. And a passion was born!! It was quite surprising as I had never been a crafty person! So doing something creative and feeling really engaged and fulfilled came as a surprise! A very good one indeed :)

I felt quite proud I had taught myself how to make candles and I started becoming obsessed with getting better and better at it. I gave some to my family and they were really positive about it so I decided to start selling them to other relatives and friends. The feedback I got was very motivating and I decided to share my candles with the world, hoping you all like them as much as I do :)

Thanks for visiting :)
