About

I come from a family of women in the Appalachian Mountains who loved to fabricate with needle and thread, sometimes by machine, sometimes by hand. My grandmother was a devoted quilter and as a child, I played beneath her quilting frame when she worked. She sewed the large pieces with her treadle machine and fine top-stitching was all done by hand.

My aunt was passionate about knitting and crocheting. Her throws, blankets, and shawls were in great demand, especially her special baby blankets made with the softest yarn you could ever imagine!

My mother designed and sewed nearly all of my clothes when I was a little girl. The best thing is that she always made a tiny matching dress for my doll! She even made a formal evening dress for me when I was 5 years old so that I could be a princess in the first grade Harvest Festival…

As for myself, I'm crazy about bags of all sizes. Everything that you see in my shop is designed and personally made by me on my German- made Pfaff sewing machine, which I love.

The wild and rugged beauty of the Pacific Northwest, which prompted my move to Oregon, is also the inspiration for the work I do. The natural world of Oregon is sometimes delicate and sweet, sometimes bold and vivid. And often it is all of these things at the same time. In the same way, my bags are both casual and elegant and offer the best of both.

TigerMoon Bags can also be found at the Oregon Country Fair, booth 388.

The banner for my shop is a portion of "Momentum - Siberian Tiger" by Robert Bateman.
