Thanks for visiting my shop! www.TinyTipis.etsy.com

I have been sewing and working with my hands since I was very little. I can remember gathering up all the phone books in the house and stacking them under my grandma's sewing table just so I could reach the sewing machine pedal. I have worked for large companies in manufacturing and management sewing positions which is where I started to realize the bigger the machine the more I love to sew on it.

Canvas is my obsession. I started making small tipis as a way to connect with my heritage in a space efficient manner and have since found my calling. I consider each tipi I make a unique piece of art with a personality and purpose of it's own.

I took patterns from books combined with countless hours of research to create products that are good enough quality to be shown in museums. Currently I only have 18" Crow Style ready to sell but I am working on a 4.5' Crow style Play Tipi for children and small animals. I should be ready to sell the Play Tipis around Christmas 2013, just in time to get one for your children!!!

Other products I offer include Eco-friendly Shopping Bags and Space Savers / Organizers. I use the same canvas for these that I use to make my Tipis. The end product is very professional and durable. The bags fold in thirds and clasp shut with the handle for convenience (18"x18" when unfolded, 6"x6"x1" when compacted). The space savers can be rolled or folded however you please and come in a variety of sizes. Everything I sell is customizable at little extra cost. The bags and organizers fit great in a purse, diaper bag, car trunk, or luggage for that time when you need some extra space.

My spiritual side comes out stronger in certain areas of my art. After many conversations with my grandmother I have learned to make dream catchers as well. When I start a new dreamcatcher I try to find a tree that is flexible with lots of new growth. I don't take the branch unless it feels right and when I get home the branches seem to bend right into place. All of my dream catchers hold themselves in the circle shape without any materials to bind them. The thread wrapped circles are done for visual appeal or symbolic reasons. I often leave the smaller branches on the circle. This is a choice I make based on my own personal taste. I feel it gives me a larger canvas to work with and acts like a frame to the dream catcher. Most are made of all natural materials but occasionally I will cheat with a dab of Elmer's Glue or plastic beads. If so it is stated in the description for that particular item.

Art has always been my love. Creation is nicer than destruction. I work with all mediums from ARC and TIG welding to acrylic paint. Tepees and sewing just happen to be my first love.
