e. tobin Eckian's Profile
About
I like to paint with attention to the spaces between things. And fill them with those things that seem invisible like joy, love, peace and happiness.
I hope it translates.
Everything is used in my work. The smells, images, sounds of the day. My grandfather was a second generation Italian Chemist, and I become chemistry itself, feeling the distillation of life gathering and then producing paintings. I gather sketches, photographs, older paintings, older sketches, dream fragments, the taste of color into collage and acrylic on canvas and wood. I use animals to tell the stories because of their innocence and humor. Some of my influences have been Wassily Kandinsky, Alice Monroe and Vanessa Bell.
