About

WHO?

My name is Lois Addy.

Toot Hill Medley has grown out of my life long interest in craft - designing and making objects that are high quality but not mass produced. Unique objects that I want to see and handle and keep.

WHAT?

I love the tactile and visual nature of textures - whether paper, plastic, cloth or other fibres, and the intricacy and individuality of hand-made products.

I like the contrast of patterns against expanses of plain; the vibrancy of competing colours; and how light plays on flat and shaped objects.

I make limited runs of my own designs from natural and synthetic materials - cloth, paper, plastic and thread, frequently using clean recycled and renewed materials - aiming for high quality, beautiful, useful and affordable items that you want to have in your life.

10% of the net profit per item sold will be donated to charity.

HOW?

Runs are limited not just so you can own something unique, but also because the techniques and materials I use don't lend themselves to exact replications and large production runs.

All my designs have been extensively tested to make sure they are robust and work as intended in normal use.

Some of my products use double-dyed fabric that I've hand-dyed or screenprinted myself. Others use end of line or seconds materials where I've worked around the flaws to save as much as I can from being wasted and ending up in landfill. Some use brand-new materials or a mixture.

For each product you'll get specific care instructions to ensure that your item has a long and happy life in your care, as appropriate.
