I fuse and slump reclaimed scrap glass, including window, picture frame, and aquarium glass, in my studio in Portland, Oregon. I receive donations of glass from local glass shops and community members. These types of glass are excluded from most municipal recycling programs. My work is an effort to create objects of beauty and utility while diverting useful glass from the landfills.

I make some of my own slump-molds using clay and antique plates to create patterns in the glass. I also use standard slump and drop-ring molds. I usually do not add colored glass, mostly due to a compatibility issues. I enjoy the natural color of this glass, which can vary from crisp and clear with bubbles and aqua highlights to a soothing frosted look.
