TransparentCarrots is all about motivation and inspiration.
I make things that excite me in their creativity as well as their technical execution. While I do make functional accessories and seasonal essentials my real fiber art passion is for toys. Many of you may recognize this as amigurumi but truth be told- I've never actually read or attempted to follow any amigurumi pattern.
Using my sense of 3-D design and my background in ceramics I'm a self taught fiber artist whose passion for toy making began when I wanted a Leeloo doll from The Fifth Element. The method used to make Leeloo inspired a collection of Zombie dolls and eventually prompted friends and acquaintances to "custom request" pretty much anything Geek from Mario to Pokemon and Nightmare Before Christmas to Futurama.
It's true I'm on a cutesy tangent currently as I'm making more hair barrettes and headbands than makes sense- but my customers at the craft store love them and often I sell even the one I'm wearing when I'm out doing my own shopping!
All my work is 100% of my own making and designing without the use of patterns. So when you decide you've got to have some of my handmade goodies you know you are getting a one of a kind treasure!
