About

I've been sewing since I can remember. Sure, those Barbie clothes that I hand-stitched out of questionable 70s polyester may not make it into the pages of Vogue, but they did inspire in me a life-long love of fashion and costumes.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre (emphasis in Costume Design) and fully intended to make my living working on movies and Broadway. Since bill collectors and landlords insisted on being PAID, that dream took a bit of a back-seat and I took on different day-to-day office jobs, trudging through my work, doodling, snarking, rebelling, and dreaming of a day when I could be truly creative, when I could MAKE beautiful things and CREATE elegant clothing that would stand the test of time.

I've always been disappointed in shopping trips. Disappointed in feeling inadequate, since nothing seemed to fit properly or suit me. My ideas of style never seemed reflected in the clothing in stores. My body never seemed to be just right. I grew tired of coming home dejected, depressed and empty-handed from these trips. Why were clothes so poorly made? So ill-fitting? So skimpy or frumpy or ugly? Why would I want to wear what everyone else is wearing?

It struck me (probably later than it should have) that I could MAKE clothing. I could create the things that I wanted to wear day to day. That I didn't have to succumb to the general idea that all women want to wear the skimpiest of costumes for Halloween! I COULD MAKE ALL THE THINGS!

And so, at the urging of my amazing husband, I quit the day job. I said "See Ya!" to the stress, the unhappiness, the Cube Farms. I struck out on my own, and I haven't looked back. I spend my days sewing up things that I love. Things that are beautiful, elegant, and reminiscent of the past. I take extreme pride in my work, and hope that others love it as much as I do.

I'm a wife, a fur-mama to 3 kitties, a books-on-cd listener, a lover of Asian horror films, a sister, a wanna-be-better gardener, a MN transplant to LA, and a bit of a geek. I love what I do, I love my customers, and I love that I have the ability to pursue my dreams here on Etsy.
