Travis DeVere's Profile

About

I see the world in shape and form, and am fascinated by it. My artwork reflects my fascination and gives me purpose. In the past, I primarily worked subtractively, creating forms from organic materials like wood and bone. Recently, I became introduced to the lost wax process of creating form from metal. The permanence and coldness of metal has an eternal quality that draws me to it. The organic shapes that I create often include elements of mechanical complexity and movement. Humans have a creative nature that drives them manipulate and shape the world around us. In my work, I try to balance nature with mechanical ingenuity.
