About

Welcome to Treadle Treasures. Let me give you some insight into the people behind the name. I am privileged to be a stay-at-home mom, taking care of my children. My husband helps me manage my sewing business when he comes home from work. Our family enjoys simple country living: going for walks, raising a garden, attending church, helping our neighbors, and going camping.

I started creating reproduction Civil War items many years ago. My clients appreciate the quality of my work, attention to detail, and authenticity. I have sewn for re-enactors, museums, theaters, a film producer, and many clients just like you. We believe you will appreciate the high quality products, the fair prices, and the quick service.

Most of the items created at Treadle Treasures are done on a 1914 White Rotary and an 1889 Singer treadle sewing machine. Minimal sewing is done on a modern electric machine. My collection of treadle sewing machines is on display in our home.

In addition to my products, I also give presentations at local schools and community events. My topics have included the Civil War, Cooking, Sewing, School, and Everyday Life during the 1860's. My favorite presentation is to dress up as a schoolmarm and take the students back to life in a classroom more than a century ago. I give lessons from an 1840's math book. The kids are enthralled and remember so much from from this living history presentation.

I hope to make you a satisfied customer. We try hard to give you our best service and quality products. As you can see above, we live simple but full lives. Our Lord and our family come before you, but we would be pleased to work with you and will do our best to fulfill your wishes.
