About

I live alone with my dog, Kaiah, a sweet and adorable Papillon, who goes most everywhere with me.

I'm originally from Vermont and had the luxury of spending summers growing up on the coast of Maine. For those of you who have never been to either State - definitely worth the trouble of getting there. The landscapes are breathtaking and the people are warm and welcoming!

I enjoy painting what I call naked trees probably the most. Maybe it's because in Michigan and also the east coast - trees spend most of their time naked as summer's foliage never lasts very long. I think the true beauty of a tree is in the way the limbs bend and twist and the bark cracks and the roots pop up. Even the dark seemingly forlorn paintings I do where they sky is black and everything dark is because I find such peace in the night with the moon shining and the trees black in contrast. There's a peace and stillness to it. On the other hand, who doesn't love a clearing or meadow in the middle of the woods that is just erupting with wildflowers and life. I have a hard time not adding some form of water to my paintings. I love to imagine the sound of the waves or the tinkling of a brook.

I hope you enjoy my paintings and would love to hear from you. I have done many commissioned paintings of private gardens and would be happy to give a price quote. Please feel free to contact me.
