Sally Brock's Profile

About

Welcome,

My name is Sally Brock. I currently live and create art in San Diego, California. I am a West Coast artist who loves the city life. I find this environment to be home to the "anything goes" style of art.

Being born with the gift of ADHD, unbeknownst to myself my creations can be seen painted backwards or upside down a few times before the final piece is finished. It is not uncommon to see a toe painted on the wrong side of a foot, or a leg crossed with the opposite foot attached pointing in the wrong direction.

Accepting this frustration as my own style, I now see the humor in my creations and consider my tendency to create things "backwards" to be my claim to fame. I have always said seeing a blank canvas or a white piece of paper turn into an image of color and form amazes me…

About

I have always said seeing a blank canvas or a white piece of paper turn into an image of color and form amazes me. I’m sure I have been given a gift from God that I don’t ever want to take for granted.

My paintings and personality go hand in hand. I am a very upbeat person and I love bright colors that enliven my life and my work. I use the word “eclectic” to describe my home and my art work and think colors, textures and patterns don't always have to go together, but my designs are fun and some how work.

Painting people is my favorite subject. I like to strive for realism but somehow, my work always seems to come back to surrealism, which I think may account for my natural “out of the box" thinking. My preferred medium is acrylic but I am sure oil would be my favorite if I didn't always rub my arms through a painting before it is dry!

Thank you for visiting Turntable Art. I love sharing my art with you and I hope to see you again soon.
