About

Hi there, My name is Jody and I live in the forest near Algonquin Park with my 4 year old daughter Ayla and my husband Paul.
I have been creating things for as long as I can remember and attended Sheridan for Glass Blowing and Fabric design.
I am constantly trying new things and have played with just about every medium over the years including glass, silks, ceramics, painting (oil, acrylic, watercolours etc.) mosaics, woodworking...this list could go on and on! The constant thread holding it all together is that my work is inspired by nature from sea to sea and everything in between!
Growing up in the country on a lakeside, surrounded by the forest has impacted my lifestyle and my work. My father taught me the importance of sustainable harvest of old and dying trees and to always leave some behind for the future eco…

Twigs and Blossoms reflects that with the birch and wood collected from my parents 800 acres of land. My father taught me the importance of sustainable harvest of old and dying trees and to always leave some behind for the future eco system of the land. We have many birch trees on the property that shed their layers of bark as they grow and I always enjoyed chasing after a piece blowing by in the wind!
I hope you enjoy my work as each and every piece has a story to tell and I enjoy my work tremendously!
My work has been featured on HGTV and also in numerous blogs and artisan shows! Thank-you all for your support!
