About

My daughter, who is a missionary in Ecuador, is the one who inadvertently inspired me to start creating. With her inability to obtain all the necessary materials in that third world country to make her handmade greeting cards, she called upon me for assistance. Therefore, craft stores became my second home for quite some time.

As I stood in those aisles for sometimes hours on end taking pictures of papers and punches and stamps and stickers and every other conceivable thing so she could put together her "shopping list", I got to thinking ... Wow! There are some really incredible crafts out there! That was October of 2007.

With my motivation in full gear, I tried my hand at various things, but never seemed to hit upon the one thing that was "me." ... Then one day, quite by accident, I stumbled upon the world of quilling, and I knew immediately I had finally found my place!

I started out making pictures and cards and bookmarks, all the things quilling is best known for, but then one day it hit me ... rather than simply putting these incredible intricate pieces on paper, I could be wearing these beauties! And that's how Twirled Treasures was born - initially for my enjoyment, and now hopefully for yours!
