About

Hi! and thanks for visiting the Twisted Tinkers' Etsy shop. I am Marla McCoy my claim to fame is what I like to term "Creative ADD". So many times I start a project with a certain idea in mind and while in the process the materials speak to me and pull me in different directions until my finished project is nothing at all like what my initial vision was. That and the fact that I have so many interests and fascinating hobbies sometimes it is difficult for me to focus my attention on just one thing!

I get much of my inspiration from the surroundings here in the beautiful Rogue Valley of Southern Oregon where I live. I work with tons of wire and scrap metals to create the fun and funky designs offered here. It has always been my dream to be able to make a small living off of my own hand crafted items. I get much of my inspiration from the surroundings here in the beautiful Rogue Valley of Southern Oregon where I live. I work with tons of wire and scrap metals to create the fun and funky designs offered here. It has always been my dream to be able to make a small living off of my own hand crafted items. When I was younger, I dreamed of traveling across the country, visiting different faires and markets in order to sell my work (I still dream of this) instead, I grounded myself and set about raising a family of 3 wonderful and intelligent young men. All the while feeding my inner creative self by teaching myself many arcane crafts and dreaming of the day I could devote my life to them. I spin my own wool, make my own soap, knit my own socks, bake my own bread and sew many of my own clothes. But when I learned to make glass beads, I knew my world was complete! As fate and the economy may have it, I lost my "day job" awhile back and have had a lot of time on my hands to be creative and devote to this Etsy Shop. **I now have a full time job and not nearly as much time as I'd like to devote to creativity and my shop. I'm figuring out how to juggle things and am getting the shop back on her feet!

Hi Marla :)

Just thought it would be nice to reach out and send you a very belated thank you for making such beautiful favors for my daughter's 1st birthday. When I opened the package that you sent, I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. The bubble wands were gorgeous! I love how all of the colors complimented one another - they were very, very pretty :). The glass bead designs were very nice, especially the flower/rosette detail - it was quite lovely and probably one of my favorites!

We received such wonderful compliments about how nice your work is. I will be sure to pass on your name if anyone asks. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Keep up the amazing work and hopefully I'll be in touch in the future.

Best Wishes,

Lisa
