Fidelma Bourke's Profile

About

I'm a Kent, England, based artist, mainly specialising in photographic portraits, but I'm here at etsy.com to sell my other creations!

My biggest artistic influences are Anton Corbijn, and Pierre et Gilles, closely followed by Vincent Van Gogh, M.C. Esher, Margaret Bourke White, Tamara de Lempika, Jack Vetriano and Elliott Erwitt. so if you know how vastly different their work is, you know you won't know what to expect from me!

I love creating beautiful "feel good" items, with big bold colours in beautiful settings, and also contemplative monotones where you notice a little more each time you look at it! Of course, it has to be theatric and dramatic! The bizarrest things thrill me artistically. Of course, it has to be theatric and dramatic! The bizarrest things thrill me artistically. I once did a cityscape project, which I enjoyed far more than landscape, and even a series on the humble garden shed! (which I am considering selling here). I dislike taking posed or still life images, and I would describe my style as "artistic documentary".

Although I'm not a nature person, at all, I love photographing little things in nature that catch my eye. I can enjoy nature passing it in a train and I don't have to be in the middle of nature to love and appreciate it! whereas other people have to be camping out in it! I love the sky! How it changes and looks so different from one moment to the next. and I love to photograph big fat fluffy white clouds as much as mean menacing stormy skies!

Many of the photos I'm selling here are taken in Kent, buy one of my photos, and you'll have a beautiful tiny little piece of the Garden Of England to call your own!
