Robyn and Curtis' Profile

About

Vertegris is a young husband and wife team of garden nerds in disguise. By day we hold the reins at an investment bank and creative agency in NYC, but our world truly revolves around plants and animals.

When we aren't playing with our foster cats and dogs, you can find us in the greenhouse meticulously tending to our other babies - mosses, vegetables and mushrooms. Out of our love of all things Plantae, rather strange yet refined design taste, and general craftiness come our one of a kind terrariums and plant goods.

Vertegris (vər-tə-gree) is a play on the word "verdigris," a green pigment obtained from the application of acetic acid to copper. The modern French spelling of this word is "vert-de-gris." Up until the 19th century, verdigris was the most vibrant green pigment available.
