Vadim Malkin's Profile
"When you really love what you do, it shows, and I strive to make this a reality in all of my work."
Vadim Malkin is a third generation artist, starting with his grandfather who was a notable sculptor in Moscow, Russia, and his father, an award winning jeweler and enamellist.
In his work, Vadim attempts to investigate a transcendental facet of life, to find a soulful meaning to everyday living. Vadim's work reflects growth, change, and adaptation. His influences include Russian cultural art and ceremonial processions, such as nightly teatime conversations. His work is created with a combination of wheel thrown forms and hand-built designs. He finds clay an ideal medium for his creative outlet with the ability to stretch, warp, and manipulate the material in ways most suitable for his vision…
