About

I am an artist, farmer, gardener and gatherer with just enough attention deficit and plenty of energy to keep me bopping between all of my loves - including, of course, the family and friends.
As an artist, I love creating! I also love finding discarded items and up-cycling them into beautiful, functional pieces of art.
Combined with my love of the farm - the cows, of which we have three - Queen Sassy Pants and Izzy giving plenty of milk for cheese (yet another love of mine!) and Peanut, who will be meeting her first mate very soon. Our free range hens are not nice to any flower gardens in the yard, but their eggs are huge and healthy! The garden, fenced for its own protection from the deer, the hens, the rabbits and skunks, is all heritage produce (raised and grown naturally), which provides most of our veggies for a year.

To keep with my need for beauty, lot of thought goes into every group of plants, with
each having a companion flower and deterrent for pests, too. My husband thinks I'm a bit nuts, but he's coming around to my way of caring for the earth!

The farm has been here since the early 1900's, but the business was recently located at 15319 State Hwy 65, McGrath, MN, as Lil Market - an Artisan and Farmers' Market, with each purchase helping to keep a beloved senior and friend in her home, while allowing me the opportunity to “buy” the property with my hours, time and materials invested, along with my sweat equity.
After 2 years, though, with nothing still in writing - 9 months of that as a full time care provider - it was time for me to STOP investing all of my time, efforts and money into property that had no guarantee of return for those efforts and instead, continue my work from the farm and home. There is simply no more market on the premises and no more gardens. It's good to be back home!
Not to worry, my senior friend still gets my support and help: I am just no longer paying half of the bills to be a full time care provider, while building a business and gardens for someone else's benefit.....most likely a relative or the county.

It is what it is and it is time for me and my talented friends to invest our efforts where we will reap the rewards of our hard work. This is as it should be. The farm is located at 627 Elm Street, McGrath, MN. Stop on in and see us!
Visit http://www.Lil-Market.com - I'm still in the process of getting all of our stuff online! All shop members will be a part of its magic!

The creative crew that helped fill the shop with their wonderfully unique creations when we ran it as an Artisan / Farmers' Market, will continue to sell their items here on etsy, at the Isle Farmers' Market and on the Lil-Market website. We will continue creating until we die, so we're hoping things will sell in the meantime! That, or we'll be forced to build another barn just for storage! Thanks for checking us out!
