About

Vanessa Freund of VanessaRoseDesigns has been creating ever since she could sit upright and hold a crayon. Having received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from the Kansas City Art Institute in 2008, Vanessa approaches her jewelry and accessories as she would works of art. VanessaRoseDesigns is the result of combining her two passions in art and fashion. By manipulating vintage fabrics, beads, plastic and natural materials, she likes to experiment with modern fashion influences and trends from this unique perspective of being a mixed-media artist. She enjoys the process of transforming so that unwanted discarded scraps of denim or plastic vinyls are glamorized. In using Native American beadwork, sewing, embroidery and other craft techniques her pieces reflect her funky, modern bohemian style for women who strive to find an organic, creative way of expressing themselves through fashion. Statement pieces such as her fun feathered necklaces and up-cycled denim cuffs have the effect of Sarah Jessica Parker meets Sacajawea!
