VICTORIA' ARTIST STATEMENT:
I have been a life-long traditional artist and a digital artist for the last fifteen years. I create to express and share excitement for the brilliant colors in life.

Painting is one of the things I most look forward to doing at the end of the day. It relaxes me and keeps my mind busy with ideas about interesting colors, subjects, and shapes. I like sharing those ideas in the form of painting (digitally or traditionally). I do not paint any particular type of theme, yet I focus on subjects from my daily life, travel, people, and animals around me. I paint to pay homage to a particularly beautiful color, person, place, and/or experience.

I am partial to painting with watercolors (traditionally and digitally) because it is spontaneous, fast, and contained, yet can be unhurried and well suited for tiny details. In watercolors, I can express an intense mood quickly or pine away at the minutia of the subject. I also like watercolors because they are adaptable to illustrative and traditional watercolor techniques. Digital painting simulates painting with traditional media in untraditional ways which is freeing but also has its limitations that challenge me to try new things.
