VintageHeadquarters' Profile

About

This shop is run by Tyson Bodnarchuk and Angie Johnson. We used to run brick & mortar store in Montreal called Headquarters Galerie & Boutique. Half gallery and half boutique (obviously) it featured work by independent artists and designers, with a little bit of vintage stuff thrown in for fun. Angie seems to have this special knack for finding great vintage stuff, to the point that there is too much to keep for ourselves...it's ridiculous. When we used to have a boutique here in Montreal we sold some of it there, but now that we've closed the store we're focusing all our energy on creating our own designs (sold in our own shops, see below) as well as bringing all sorts of vintage finds to you all here on Etsy!

Angie is the designer of the line Norwegian Wood. She has a bachelors degree in Clothing and Textiles. Her 4 year degree required taking courses in textile design, history of western dress, textile science, garment design and production as well as "Colour application in Design", which is another set of fancy words which means she knows how to do batik, tie die, embroidery and a bunch of other ways to make fabrics pretty.

So feel secure in the fact that these vintage items were carefully chosen by a knowledgeable eye! Plus Angie's been buying and wearing vintage clothing since she was about 13 years old (that's 17 years, in case you were curious)

Tyson is busy finding all our vintage books and homewares, and if he's not doing that he's busy creating monster and robot art for his own Etsy shop and other local and online stores.
