Jon WATTO Watson's Profile

About

Hi, I'm Mary.

My husband metal sculpture, Jon Watson, grew up in the South, went into the army at 17 and then off to design school. For over 15 years he was a graphic designer, but got bored of sitting behind a computer. He began apprenticing with a local metal shop in 2005. In 2007, he bought his own equipment and opened up shop at home and started "The Metal Gardener" with help from me-Mary Spencer-Watson. He began making beautiful sculptures and lighting. He started getting custom jobs for gates and other items.

I graduated with a degree in Graphic design and painting and went on to be a Product Manager in the social expression, craft, puzzle and game industries. I also dabbled as a graphic design, floral designer and prop designer.

After I got laid off in Feb of 2009, we decided to start WATTO - a nickname Jon's buddies had given him. We decided to focus on belt buckles and accessories which made me very happy as since I LOVE fashion. I do the graphic work, marketing and upkeep of the site as well as designing a few of the buckles and creating the jewelry and rings and of course the bling.

We are excited about using our combined talents. We hope you appreciate the time and care that goes into every item.

All correspondence will go through me since Jon is busy creating in his workshop.

Thanks for stopping by.
