I've been working with clay off and on since I took my first ceramics class in college in the early 1980's. There is nothing quite like picking up a piece of clay and having it turn into something in my hands, sometimes it seems to make itself.
I spent many hours at Baltimore Clayworks (http://www.baltimoreclayworks.org) beginning as a student in 1987. I became part of the staff, working in the gallery, then in the ceramic supplies business (Clayworks Supplies- http://www.clayworkssupplies.com/) selling clay, materials and tools.
I have been involved with exhibits, workshops, classes, teaching, kiln building. I have experience with throwing, hand building, sculpture, raku, wood firing, electric and gas firing, and much more.
I drift away from clay now and then, but it always…
