About

Thank you for stopping by my shop! Here's a little about me:

I grew up loving art, and well, that hasn't changed much. Pretty much everyone in my family has some sort of artistic skill, my mom is overall crafty and has a great talent for drawing and painting and my dad has some great wood working skills. He has made duck decoys and currently has started taking knots from trees and carving them down into bowls. I have two brothers (one older, and one younger) and I have always been jealous of their ability to paint and draw. Not only has my family been a factor in my love to get creative, but my friends have always been there to inspire and support me.

So I guess that's where it all started. I loved taking art in school, but when it came to choosing a major in college I went the oposite way. I graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Human Nutrition, Foods…

So I guess that's where it all started. I loved taking art in school, but when it came to choosing a major in college I went the oposite way. I graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Human Nutrition, Foods and Exercise (doesn't really involve much creativity!). I currently work in a Parks and Recreation Department and have taken to crafting on the side. I found a love for making frames and candle holders and figured that there were people out there who would like them too. Luckily I was right!

In May of 2009 I officially started Whimsical Expressions and have taken great joy in being a new business owner. I make all of my pieces with great care and strive to bring a smile to anyone they land in the hands of. My love for bright, bold colors and patterns can definately be seen in my work, and I continue improve upon my process to ensure a high quality. One day I hope to own my own Brick and Mortar store, I'll give you directions to it once it's open for business!

I hope you enjoy!
