About

My First major crafting crisis happened when I was 5 years old. It was on Christmas Eve. I was making a Santa ornament out of construction paper and I needed cotton balls to make Santa’s fluffy white beard. After searching through the entire house my mother gingerly informed me that we were currently out of cotton balls causing me to begin tearful tirade. Thankfully, my mother was very ingenious in the face of a crafting predicament and went into her bathroom and ripped apart a tampon to extract the necessary cotton. I happily completed my ornament unaware of the source of the procured cotton. I was apprised of the source of the cotton many Christmases later over a bottle of wine. We still have the ornament. We call him the “Kotex” Santa. :)
