William Dohman's Profile

About

When William made Katie a Christmas present from some leftover samples at his office—the very first “think” sign—she was thrilled. And she knew others would be too, so she suggested he sell them. By 2008, Oh Dier Living had its Etsy shop. As the shop has grown and evolved, William left his architecture job to pour his heart into Oh Dier, and Katie moved into freelance writing and Oh Dier.

Today, Oh Dier is a full-fledged home décor line, focused on finely crafted lifestyle items made from the best—and often upcycled—materials, with a heavy emphasis on beautiful wood goods.

We design, make, and package everything ourselves in-house because we care about every detail. Oh Dier wants to decorate your world.

We love helping design lovers commemorate their milestones—from cohabitation (the Cohab box), marriage (signage and the Pixie proposal box), to kitchen accessories (salt cellars and cutting boards), parties and ceremonies (cake toppers and more) and even welcoming children into their lives (proportional blocks and toys). We believe our possessions tell a story—and that we should love where we live.

Our work has been recognized by Bon Appétit, Real Simple, Midwest Home, Rue, and How magazines, as well as Apartment Therapy, Design*Sponge, and Decor8, among other design notables.

When we’re not dreaming up new designs, honing our collection, or answering emails, we’re: being parents to Ruby; chasing Ernie and Murray, our rescue dogs; listening to Motown or the Black Keys; sipping whiskey; riding bikes; reading; or watching documentaries.

We’re honored you’re here.
