Grandma Wims, as she was affectionately called by many, was born in the late 1890s. A mother, grandmother and great-grand mother, she was warm, caring and friendly. As a homemaker in a small, rural town in Maryland where a lot was not available to her, she made do with what she had. Such as using flour to make her own starch for use when doing laundry. "Use what you already have to make do, because nothing should be wasted" and "Take a little of this and a little of that then add it to the recipe" were her famous sayings.
I have learned the meaning of these sayings by re-purposing wool, cotton, linen and silk fabrics samples into something a lot less common. Creating one of a kind unique lapel pins along with many other men accessories.
