I was born in Oregon, moved to Ohio and the joy of raising and mentoring two sons! My wife Sally and I both work for the City of Akron. Growing up in Oregon I was surrounded at an early age by forests. Some of my earliest memories are of my mom putting us down for a nap underneath the shade of a huge broad leafed maple tree. Living in Ohio I got away from woodworking in order to earn a regular income to help support my family. In Ohio I discovered the Amish and lightening bugs! Neither of which we had in Oregon. I spent many a summer evening catching lightening bugs with my boys! The Amish are fine woodworkers. Being around those spiritual, earthy folks rekindled my deep desire for woodworking. Sally and I have just recently started traveling to Maine again. What a beautiful state and the fall foliage is fantastic! I was fortunate to reacquaint with old friends again. Wonderful people those Mainers.
