Ever since I was a child, I thought weaving was magic. Strings become cloth as you move your feet and hands. Patterns and colors appear just from the air. Dyeing is much like that too. First, there is white and then there is color. And the color is always a surprise. That's why I love weaving rugs and enjoy dyeing the rainbow of colors. I use all my training to produce the dyed fabric--some chemistry, some guild training, dye training, and research. I use my life--what I have seen, where I have lived. You will find Arizona, Ohio, Mexico, Colombia in my rugs. You might see mountains, fields, lakes, forests, skys, clouds, beaches, and woodlands. I hope you will experience some of them through my rugs. Yellow Creek Weavers is a passion for me. It is turning fiber and strings into a rug through all the processes--dyeing, weaving, finishing. Personally, I still think it rather magical, and I can't wait to do it again today.
