Vero Miranda's Profile

About

My name is Verónica, I'm from Argentina and I live in Ann Arbor, MI, with my husband, my 13 year old daughter, my 3 year old son and my new baby girl :-). I'm a Special Education Teacher specialized in Visually Impairment but now I'm a full time mom.

We have been in the US for eight years, and like many women who have to stay at home I'm constantly thinking of things to do to keep me busy and help my family. That's how I came up with the idea of starting Yolanda by Vero.

Why Yolanda? That was my mom's name. Why did I choose to call it like that? Well, there are many reasons but mainly because I think that she was the one who motivated me to start with this. It was also she who taught me many of the things I know how to do. I grew up seeing her make wonderful things, very elegant, delicate, simple, neat, beautiful…

My mom was a designer since very young, I would say that since a kid. Her first job as a designer was when she was 13 and made a bride's dress. She also knitted a lot, she used two needles and I remember how fast and neatly she did it. The last thing that she made was a blanket for my son. She had already lost the sensibility in her fingers due to the chemotherapy and she was still able to make a beautiful blanket for him. When I look at it I can't believe that she could make something so beautiful without having any sensitivity in her fingers.

I have many passions and ideas and I like to work with many different materials and techniques. My purpose is to make of Yolanda by Vero a place where you can find what you need for yourself, your friends, your family, your house, etc.

Unfortunately I don't have much time to work (three kids!) but I will work hard, with dedication and perseverance, like a worker ant, to make Yolanda by Vero grow :)

Please come back soon!

Thank you,
Veronica
