About

I have many hobbies and loves. I love buttons of all kinds. I first got interested in buttons years ago when I was making jewelry. I used old buttons to make earrings (without hurting them.) At that point I started collecting all kinds of buttons, just because I love them. I have a huge collection and many are duplicates of ones that I already have, so I offer them here. My quilting friend uses buttons as embellishments and she suggested I sell them on this site for other quilters and artists.

I am an artist as well as a crafter. I make of all kinds of things. I paint in oils, watercolors and pastels, I have done a lot of collage and decoupage, I crochet and knit and make quilts. All of this is secondary to my button collection because there are only so many hours in the day.

I have many hobbies and loves. I love buttons of all kinds. I first got interested in buttons years ago when I was making jewelry. I used old buttons to make earrings (without hurting them.) I buy a lot of my buttons as my husband and I travel all over the U.S. in our RV. We love to go to small towns in the middle of nowhere to look through antique stores and thrift stores looking for buttons. I seem to be incredibly lucky in finding great bargains. My initial dive headlong into button collecting came when I found two FIVE GALLON jars of buttons near where I used to live. I bought BOTH jars and have never regretted it. I found the most amazing buttons in those jars. They were four generations of buttons saved! The lady that sold them to me told me the story of how they had been taken care of in their own way, but that she didn't really know how to preserve them. I paid full price for them, and was glad I did when I ran into her daughter later who told me that the money came at just the right time because her mother had to stay home and take care of her ailing husband and couldn't work. From that moment on I realized that I could sleep well at night if I treated all the people I sell to with dignity and fairness. Mostly because you just never know another person's situation. I have been blessed and I love passing on buttons that I know will make someone happy.

I am a retired RN but it feels like I have less time than when I was working! I love playing with my buttons, sorting and cleaning, and identifying them. I hope you find the right buttons for your needs.
