About

My love affair with jewelry began 6 decades ago. During a home party my mother was hosting I wandered into the room, instead of sleeping. There before me were the most beautiful, sparkly things I had ever seen. I especially had my eye on a necklace which showed up in a box for me later. It is lovingly displayed in my home today. My jewelry accessories are some of my favorite treasures to keep and appreciate for a lifetime.

Couple the love of jewelry with the respect for antiques and high craftsmanship of the past and ZoftigDoll was born. I come from a family of very creative women, talented artist in a number of fields. We have encouraged each other in all of our avenues, from pen and ink, pottery, photography, my mother's magical crochet needle, oil painting and my sister the master of the written word.

It is very satisfing to me to take something, not in use anymore and turn it into a new item to be loved and appreciated, especially if it becomes a piece of jewelry - a one of a kind piece of art. The attention to detail, beauty and the patience of artist of the past is amazing and needs to be recognized and appreciated. A great example of this is all the guilloche designs the watchmakers put into the pocket watch works. This artwork was never seen by anyone but the maker and repair man. I love to use these pieces in lots of my jewelry designs.

I hope you enjoy looking through my items and thanks for stopping by! Please come back often and see the updates!
