As a designer, I believe that if you're happy while creating an object, then you do imbue it with a certain amount of pleasure. For me, design has to have passion and joy. It has to make you understand a place, a time, an era. It has to be a vehicle for the person who ultimately owns it to connect to something meaningful.
I'm always trying to create pieces that a woman will love and enjoy-- something that will enhance her life and help her experience it in a different way. I want to somehow speak to my customer's inner person, and help her express the woman she wants to be.
