About

A graduate of Parson School of Design, Ashley Tyler is a creative director and designer whose pioneering spirit led her to move to Maine over 5 years ago. She spent the last two decades oscillating between New York City and Paris designing for Ralph Lauren and producing her own collection. Ashley is an authentic American: her ancestors were both English & Cherokee Indian, and her designs reflect primal and indigenous aspects, with a futuristic edge elegantly draped into silhouettes that conjure the glamour of Halson and expertise of Vionnet. She jump started her career by interning with Jean-Paul Gaultier and Jean Colonna while studying at Parsons Paris. After moving back to New York to finish school, Ashley interned with Geoffrey Beene, and had Donna Karan as her mentor during her senior year at Parsons. After graduation, Ashley landed an assistant designer position at Calvin Klein. She later went on to work as a designer for Ralph Lauren & Nautica Jeans. Beginning in 2001, Ashley concentrated her artistic and creative vision solely on her own collections: a couture collection under her own name and an organic sportswear line called SPYNE. She then went back to work for Ralph Lauren in 2006 as a Sr. Director of Design. Since August 2010, Ashley spends her time discovering inspiration up and down the coast of Maine and collaborating on creative projects in her studio in Biddeford.
