About

Hi! I'm Lisa Strecker of Blast From The Past Designs. Mother of 3...emotionally-driven artist & funky vintage lover!!! Born & bred northwest sider from Chicago, IL. I found my "inner artist" about 10 years ago & a serious addiction for all things vintage.

I adore making unexpected & unusual one of a kind jewelry with mostly vintage objects. I take great pride in being able to say I barely use anything new. And if I do, I'll always tell you so! What also makes what I do so special is the relationships I've built with individuals across the country! From acquiring private collections, to learning from people who have access to new/old stock out East...a fabulous National Button Society seller from out West...to the lovely antique dealers in my local area who travel to Europe in search of finds & give me first pick! I feel incredibly blessed!…

My creativity is driven by the marriage of period & vintage accessories such as shoe clips, buckles, millinery & buttons along with the fabulous glass and plastics of the 19th century through the 1960's. Some of it is elegant, but mostly glamorous, funky & textured. The concept is to make collectibles WEARABLE!

I am just simply doing what I love...

If you want to know more about me, I encourage you to read my blog, you'll find it quite amusing :)
