I am inspired by textures, structures, and colors all around me and try to incorporate them and combine them in textiles to create items for artful experiences. Art is meant to be enjoyed in context and use, as well as from afar. I like classic styles for contemporary living, making modern heirlooms for you and your home.

Simple Sophisticated styles are adaptable to many tastes and environments. Modern machinery and technology standardizes products and can create technically difficult items more easily for us, so that simple basics often get passed over for hype and gloss. Each item in my shop is made in limited quantities and styles to retain and maintain individual artistic quality. I seek excellence, not perfection, one row at a time. I encourage others to live in and for the moment and make it last.

I discovered textiles and fiber arts at an early age and followed my passion through work and study at Hancock Shaker Village in Pittsfield, MA, the Allentown Art Museum in PA and the University of RI (M.S. in Textiles). I have been self-employed for many years in my own studio, first selling at craft fairs and now in my own working Studio & Gallery.

I use 4 & 8 Harness counterbalance, counter-marche, and jack looms of varying sizes (and origins) from table to floor models, all operated by hand and foot, as well as many varieties of spinning wheels, historic and modern to create lasting modern heirlooms.

I am currently in the process of moving my Miniature Textiles to a new Shop Middle Street Miniatures as they expire. Please stop by for a visit! http://www.etsy.com/shop/middlestreetminis
