April Grunspan's Profile
I'd like to say that I was raised by mystical beings, or given certain gifts at birth. But the truth is that I worked hard to learn how to throw and handbuild pots and, discovered at a later date, that I actually AM creative. I continue to express myself in clay, creating both Jewish and secular pieces at a local studio.
One of the things I love to do is take a traditional item and tweak it a bit causing people to react and think a little. Judaica is especially interesting to tackle and I love thinking about how to take ritual items and make them more meaningful to the people who purchase and use them.
Being a very social creature, I love working out of a community studio. It affords me the opportunity to share ideas with other potters and artists, resulting in synergistic energy and creativity…
