A HAPPY STITCH is me, Melissa Q. I'm a Minnesota girl transplanted to the New Jersey suburbs. I am a self-taught sewer, pattern designer, and sewing teacher with a burning curiosity about how things are made.

I love a beautiful and inspiring kit and my experiences teaching Espadrille shoemaking inspired me to create THE ESPADRILLES KIT. Rather than spend lots of time finding all of the individual supplies, my kits bring it all to you. Plus, it arrives in a gift worthy box with lots of handmade goodies. Choose from my various collections for the luxurious starter kits or if you want to use your own fabric, grab one of the "I GOT IT" kits. :)

I do the very best I can to fill my kits with sustainable materials. All off the lining cotton is organic fabric from Cloud 9 Fabrics, the box is 100% recycled material as is the tissue paper. Even my business card is made of old t-shirts! When possibly, I look for organic canvas as well.
