Alaska House, New York (AHNY) is a nonprofit representing the Alaskan point of view. The Center connects Alaska to the rest of the world through artwork, cultural exchange, business promotion, economic development and education. AHNY also promotes tourism to independent travelers seeking authentic experiences in Alaska.

The organization was created by a private board of Alaska leaders to address the misperceptions and the lack of knowledge about the great state: its economic realities, its energy resources, its vitality as a global shipping hub, its ages-old sustainable fishery, and its rich Native history.

Located in the heart of the arts district of SoHo, in a duplex space of over 3,000 square feet, AHNY offers visiting Alaskans meeting space, video-conferencing capabilities, and a gathering place in the nation’s media and financial capital, to discuss the many issues and opportunities for our vast state around the world.

AHNY offers a wide range of programs, including art exhibitions, concerts, film screenings, lectures and symposia that shed light on the vitality of the Alaska Native peoples and events, films and forums to explore topics ranging from the making of Alaska Native art to the state of the State post-Palin. Past event topics include Alaska natural gas as a key to energy independence, improving healthcare in Alaska, and Alaska’s contribution to the Global Food Aid Program.
