Alicia Watkins' Profile

About

I like weirding crafts. And I like looking at weird crafts. I've been weird since I was born, and crafting since I was 6.

Since then, I've made purses out of soda cans, architecture plans, newspapers, old books, plastic canvas and rice bags; gotten a master's degree in television criticism; learned to carve rubber stamps; collected more dishes, books and DVDs than any one person should own, as well as more Goodwill art than most people would put on their walls; and started thinking up ironic cross-stitch patterns for friends and family, which I also sell here, in addition to the finished cross stitchery and DIY kits you'll see in my shop.

The semicolon is my favorite punctuation mark.

I also provide the cross stitch patterns and kits for RutstheShop, which is dedicated to the merch relating to Ruts! The Oregon Trail Experience. Ruts! is a short play written by Deborah Harbin (music by Paul Obarowski, aka my husband) and has appeared at several Fringe festivals. The items for sale at RutstheShop are all Oregon Trail-related, and the money from sales goes directly to the artists involved in the production, to help pay for set materials, travel expenses, etc. Support local theater through cross stitch, bonnet-wearing and steak-shaped snuggly fleece pillows! https://www.etsy.com/shop/RutsTheShop
