I am a wood-fire salt glaze potter. I make functional kitchen wares at my mountain home and studio in the small town of Cascade located in the scenic northern Catoctin Mountains of Maryland. My pots are thrown on my old kick wheel or hand built from slabs of clay and fired in my wood salt kiln. I strive to make well crafted, engaging and useful pots. I make pots that have a job - pots that are meant to be used and held in the hand every day–whether a bowl for morning oatmeal or a kitchen bucket for gathering greens from the garden. I make pots that I use daily in my kitchen so I am always thinking about what kinds of food I or the user can prepare, share and enjoy in my pots - which for me creates a very fulfilling connection between me the potter and you - the person using my pots! Thank you for taking a look at my art and for your continued support of my pottery! If for any reason you are not happy with your pottery please let me know. Thank you!
