Alana Vantege's Profile

About

I've been creative since I remember myself, but in the last 10 years my creativity started materializing in the number of different venues: as an interior designer, poet, writer, fashion designer, music and song writer. And then of course, I am also an explorer, gardener, nature and animal lover, vegan and avid reader. I am also interested in spiritual growth and personal enlightenment, alternative medicine and natural remedies and various healing techniques. My latest learning experience is Acutonics - healing with tones of different planets. (www.acutonics.com)

But all of this happens at night and at my leisure time. During the day I utilize two of my Master's degrees (one in Clinical Psychology and another in Regulatory Affairs) to consult to Pharmaceutical, Biotech and Medical device industries.

But all of this happens at night and at my leisure time. During the day I utilize two of my Master's degrees (one in Clinical Psychology and another in Regulatory Affairs) to consult to Pharmaceutical, Biotech and Medical device industries.

With this limitless list of activities, it certainly feels like I was born to create a fairy tale out of our existence. Through my work and my creativity I exercise my strong need to help people, to bring them positive energy; therefore I try infusing everything I do with happiness and joy. For my hand-woven things, I embed it into every little detail of my creations, so people wearing it feel that they are loved.

Now back to the beginning of my Alvant store: I woke up one day knowing what I wanted to make and not knowing how to make it. First of all, it had to be woven. Second - the designs had to be of a particular pattern. Something that strongly reminded me of my school years. Back then I used to wear detached collars and sleeves, made by my mom. I was the ONLY one in the class with sleeves over my school uniform.

It hit me a year ago, that sleeves can be made into fashionable accessory. Especially if paired with collars and matching scarves.

So, as the result of this discovery, I created my first set of Alvants© - copyrighted name for sleeves and handcuffs that I make, quickly followed by an Alvantine© - specific scarf design with an opening at the main part and 2 "arms" - this design calls for endless possibilities of wearing such a scarf.

Additionally to my own designs I find my personal style in hand woven elements with lots of fringe... It may change later, but for now I am fully indulging in it. All of my Alvantines© come with a book of my personal drawings (30 designs) with examples on how to wear a scarf. I found that the possibilities are limitless, and encourage my customers to keep experimenting with them.

I am part of the Etsy Project Embrace team (teamEPE), which is an extension of my advocacy for cancer research.
I am also the member of Rusteam and the Captain of Etsy Weavers team.
