Avni Patel's Profile

About

My work is heavily infused with different Indian art forms, to bring the traditional work to life with a more contemporary approach, which is visually stimulating and unique in everyway.
I love the old Indian miniature paintings, and the stories they convey. Self-taught in the art of miniature paintings, I use modern medium to portray my own thought-out stories. The mediums include, Prismancolor in pencil and markers, Jo Sonja’s gouache paints, charcoal, no. 2 pencil, staedtler color and black ink pens, other watercolors and other acrylic paints. I purchased my canvases from Menninger’s Art store.
My other works incorporates the henna designs, hand drawn with staedtler black ink pens, scanned and digitally enhanced for color and to make giclee prints using pigment printings for a high quality work of art. Prints are available on canvas as well as acid free high quality printing paper.
