About

Hi friends! Welcome to OneHornedHorse. We are an online vintage shop (with a sprinkle of handmade) based out of Columbus, Ohio.

I have been collecting vintage goodies from all over, for the better part of my life. Most days I can be found digging through rummage sales, moseying in flea markets, bargaining at yard sales, and sifting through secondhand stores. Treasure hunting is, by far, my most beloved pass-time.

It all started when I was just a little girl. I remember sneaking into my Grandmother's bedroom and digging through her jewelry box in search of the perfect pair of clip-on earrings to wear to the elegant tea & oatmeal cream pie parties I hosted for my Pound Puppies an Care Bears. Even after all of these years, the feeling I get when I find an unbelievable piece, still gives me butterflies! The thrill…

The thrill of the hunt never gets old.

Unfortunately for my living quarters, my addiction has only gotten worse. My tiny closets are crammed full of tons of colorful and unique pieces that I have snagged over the years. Boxes and drawers overflowing with belts, bags, scarves, shoes, and stellar costume jewelry line the walls of my bedroom. My quaint little love nest is peppered with nic-nacs and furniture pieces that have followed me home from my thrifting adventures. My basement is stock piled full of even more my amazing finds. A couple of my most notable purchases include a vintage mood ring which I bought for $6 at an old antique shop, a legit hour glass, an old corduroy ball cap embroidered with my home state, a red velvet chair, an amazing pair of heels (that just happened to be my size) from a secondhand shop in Ireland, a golden unicorn, and best of all, my wedding dress dated 1950, which I bought for $300 at a vintage bridal shop from a woman with one leg. I get chills just thinking about it all! What I have here (aside from a severe addiction myself), is a vintage junkie's dream come true.

The most fantastic thing about buying "pre-owned", (aside from the fact that it's easy on the purse strings) is that no two pieces are ever alike. Finding items that are unique, and piecing them together to create a fabulous look that will never be seen on anyone else...now that is my "happy place" :) Being true to yourself and buying what you love, not because of a label or a price tag, is what makes you unique. Embrace it!

I am now passing these pieces on to new loving owners, in hopes of making room for more marvelous finds. With this method of recycling, we'll all be decked out in fabulous vintage for ages! I hope you enjoy rummaging through my collection as much as I have enjoyed collecting it.

Happy Hunting!

xx
