About

Hi my name is Amber Ikemoto founder of From the Heart by Amber! As a self taught artist I strive to create beautiful, yet economical pieces for both women and children. Crafting is soothing for my soul. I find that when I create, I escape into my own little world and become a child all over again!

From The Heart was founded after quitting my job as a full time teacher turned stay at home mom. I discovered that my inner craft obsession was found after touring local bead shops and expos.

I became a "beadaholic" and began selling my work to strictly family and friends. After some push from my family I decided to make my part time hobby into a part time business. I opened shop in 2008 and was strictly a jewelry designer, yet found that with another little one running around I just didn't have the time nor much Etsy shop experience to make my shop stand out. I closed my store, yet continued to sell my work outside of Etsy selling at local farmers markets, art and wine festivals, and craft fairs.

I have always loved wearing hair accessories and jewelry. Shopping for mass produced accessories wasn't always the best experience for me. Items were poorly made and not always durable. So because I wanted something unique and different that one can't always find in your local department store I started making hair and fabric button accessories and jewelry for myself. I became hooked on creating them and soon had more than I or my daughter would ever need. With much hard work and dedication I re-opened my Etsy shop in March of 2010. I love knowing that somewhere out there all over the world someone is wearing one of my pieces.
