Ami Nyitray's Profile

About

The daughter of two scientists, I have always been fascinated by science; especially natural history. I've also always felt a strong connection to Victorians and their tendency to collect and classify everything. I totally relate to their love of taxonomy, and their compulsion to create mounted, pickled and taxidermied "cabinets of curiosities". I also love using bits of old paper and tiny antique found objects to tell secret stories. I began making "Wearable Wunderkammer" in 2006, and have been featured by Bust Magazine, Fashionista.com, MightyGoods.com and Time Out NY; as well as dozens of blogs. If you want to learn more, read my Featured Seller interview: http://www.etsy.com/featured_seller.php?featured_user_id=31158
