Much of Anastasia's art focuses on nature, drawing inspiration from her childhood days in the south spent wading in the creek behind her house, fishing with her grandpa, catching tadpoles, and roaming the woods. Although Anastasia finally made her great escape from six years of city living to a cabin in the Hamlet of Carmel and then onward to Kingston, NY, it was her city life and a longing for times of her childhood that can account for her ever growing love for landscape and nature photography. She has a particular fondness for colors and textures that demonstrate the raw nature of her subjects. Along with visual arts, Anastasia enjoys walking her dogs, hanging with her bunnies, singing, writing poetry, thinking up movie ideas and never actually writing them down, and baking. Finally in the Spring of 2014 Anastasia returned to the academic world to complete an advanced certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis. When she isn't making art and writing papers, Anastasia works as a clinician providing therapy for intellectually and developmentally disabled adults, while also working towards her licenses as a mental health counselor and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. A rootin' tootin' cancer survivor, she is inspired by her belief that the world is magical. Also, Roll Tide Y'all!
