I have been making and selling my tiles since 1995, starting in the southwest around Santa Fe, New Mexico and Durango, Colorado and now Davenport, California. Many of my designs are in the arts & crafts style and are inspired by organic themes and the natural surroundings of the places I have lived. One of the things I always try to keep in mind when making a tile design is that it should be of lasting appeal since once it is installed in your tile work it will be there along time. I also have made them all so that they can be hung up as a decoration, and they make great gifts. All my tiles are high fired to cone 5, 2205 degrees F, making them very durable and suitable for installation in kitchens, bathrooms, around fireplaces, laundry rooms, or anywhere else you happen to be tiling. As for my education I studied sculpture at Carnegie Mellon University and Drawing, Painting, and sculpture at Parsons School of Design,NYC. My interest in ceramics however came later and I have been basically self taught in this medium. I hope you enjoy my work and Thanks for taking a look. Steve Baranowski.
