About

INFO

Hi, I'm a Canadian new media artist with a formal background in electrical engineering. While also engaged in painting, audio, and video practices, it is sculptural lighting which has drawn the focus of my creative energy. This work has been supported by the Ontario Arts Council, the City of Ottawa, and the Corel Endowment Fund for the Arts.

I've exhibited widely in Ontario and contribute to Ottawa’s cultural community through board and volunteer involvement with artist run centres such as Artengine, Galerie SAW Gallery, and SAW Video.

I often work with my wife, Deborah, as a DJ/VJ duo or for other lighting and artistic projects, collaborating as "The Latest Artists."

Thanks for checking out my shop here on Etsy :)…

A BIT ABOUT MY WORK

I’m inspired by the delicate and engaging balance of nature’s patterns between order and chaos. I’m fascinated by the idea that a simple set of rules let lose in a system can create vivid and unexpected results. In pursuing such rules and algorithms, I program patterns that are entirely orderly, completely random, and often somewhere in between. The most intriguing and visually pleasing of these end up in my light boxes.

You’ll also recognize pop culture’s influence through the inclusion of video game -inspired patterns, such as Pong and Space Invaders.
